The Talent:
The Moving Violations
Van Kaynor, fiddle; Ron Grosslein, fiddle and mandolin; Chuck Corman, bass, guitar, and percussion; and Eric Eid-Reiner, piano — have a playful energy that transcends borders of countries and encourages spontaneity and improvisation. Driving double fiddle harmonies, strong rhythm, affectionate abandon, and occasional silliness prevail. Original compositions as well as Celtic, Eastern European, Swedish, Klezmer, and classical are all fair game for The Moving Violations.
Gaye Fifer
is an accomplished contra caller and waltz instructor from Pittsburgh. An active dancer herself, Gaye understands the subtleties of making contras and waltzes particularly satisfying for dancers. She is known for her clear and concise instructions, easy smile, and relaxed, pleasant calling style.
Escape
is Tim Ball on fiddle, Jodi Austin on keys, synths, and cowbell, and Peter Blue on button accordion, nyckelharpa, percussion, and everything else. As they say on their website, “We play cool music for contra dancing.”

Potluck supper: We will all be very hungry after hours of dancing, and we'll also have out-of-town guests and our very talented performers to feed--so, if you're able, please bring something GIGANTIC and yummy to share! Enormous quantities of grains, beans, and veggies are most welcome.

Silent auction: Have you dug up some treasures during your spring cleaning? Don't throw them away: donate them to our silent auction! Or donate a service: a massage, mandolin lesson, home-cooked meal, or whatever special skill you have to offer. This is a fundraiser for Hands Four, to help us bring outstanding musicians and dancers to the Ithaca area. Call Phil for details: 607-273-0249.
